I advise students enrolled in the Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Statistics programs in Statistics at UW–Madison. To apply to work with me as a Ph.D. student, please submit your application to Wisconsin Statistics; I do not directly admit students to my group. If you are interested in working with me, please mention that in your application. That said, I am not involved in the admissions process nor can I comment or provide feedback on your application.
If you are enrolled in another Ph.D. program at Wisconsin and are interested in working with me, please consider adding an M.S. in Applied Statistics. I am happy to discuss potential courses and thesis ideas with you (and potentially serving as your MSAS advisor!).
I unfortunately do not offer internships, visiting scholar positions, or summer research postitions for students not enrolled at Wisconsin, regardless of fudning.
As the majority of my reserach involves Bayesian Statistics, I strongly advise students to take STAT 775 before joining my group.
